Robot Ticks
0Have been pretty busy these few weeks, I took over the job of mentoring my school’s robotic teams. Previously they were looked after by the PK KO, but he was transferred to another school and as I was one of the mentors last year, I took over his job this year. But to make it all sound more crazy, I’m mentoring 5 teams this year! as opposed to just 2 last year.
It has been hard work for me, staying back after school everyday, I only go back home at around 5.30pm. But truth to be told I enjoy it, playing with those lego kits reminds me of my childhood, even though when I was a child I only had a small set. But true enough it does bring out the creative side of you ![]()
Blood Pressure Metered
0Was feeling a bit dizzy this morning so I had a quick visit to the doctor today. Was quite shocked to see my blood pressure, it was quite high 159/100 even the doctor made quite a face and even though I’ve been plagued with high blood pressure before (was diagnosed with young hypertension) have never been prescribed with high blood pressure medication. Today she gave me normaten, told me to try it out if it helps.
This is where it is important that you have your own Sphygmomanometer or in lay man’s term Blood Pressure Monitor. I personally have one, just to keep a tab on my blood pressure, my parents also own one. High blood pressure runs in the family ![]()
Wondered why my pressure shot so high, I have managed to keep it at a nice 120ish for a while. Maybe it is the pressure of work, but that couldn’t be it.. hmmm who knows…

Drifting : Do I Know How?
0A week ago, I had a moment of panic… the car went out of control while travelling down a hill side. It was a simple right corner but one where there was running water on the road.. it made it very slippery and while trying to turn right, the rear end moved first and the car drifted to the right because of that… it turned my car into a mower and mowed the grass on the right side of the road…. managed to regain control in time and put it back on the road…… (on the left side is a big chasm and on the right side a big drain)
Stopped a few meters away after the incident to take a look a the car, no serious damage, just a whole lot of scratch and a dent near the tail light. Lucky that neither the light nor its bracket was broken… if not that alone would cost a few hundred. Got a quote from toyota, they quoted 600 just to fix the dent alone…. I had it fixed at a small workshop near my home for just 60 ringgit
And their work was remarkable… the paint wasn’t even chipped….
I myself wasn’t hurt in the incident just that my body is sore from the incident…. was wearing my seatbelt.. so that must have protected me while giving me a shoulder ache.. ![]()
Meanwhile on another front. Alya is now 40 days old… she’s a lot chubbier now and has gained a few centimeters as well.
She also likes to smile and make small sounds whenever i talk to her.. and her eyes definitely follows me around whenever i get up to get something.
The joy of fatherhood????
Till next time, Adieu ![]()
p/s: no I don’t know how to drift ![]()
2 Weeks Old
4My newborn is now 2 weeks old (15 days including today), reminiscing back, the day after she was born, the mum and baby was allowed to leave. We headed straight for her grandpa’s house for him to have a look at her, we also swung around to her great grandma’s house. We also managed to stop at Abuya’s (a local sheikh) for her tahnik ceremony.
She was all fine and dandy until her third day when the visiting nurse announced that she has a slight jaundice and we needed to check her blood for it. We went to check her blood daily at Lundang Paku Health Clinic, and on the 3rd time, her jaundice had went down and the nurse told us to bring her back only if necessary.
I went to the registration office and had gotten her birth certificate, in a month’s time I will be getting her MyKid. She is now officially know as Nur Alya Fatima, though her family likes to call her Alya for short.
Alya can mean a few thing such as “a high place”, “venerable”, “mountain”, “high”, while Fatima is the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH or in old arabic “to wean”
as such her name can mean “The light of the venerable Fatima”.
During the weekend, we did a little get together for her Aqiqah, and we managed to get it done with a minimum of fuss, even managed to get a goat for it at the last minute and luckily it was cheap. During the aqiqah, the imam shaved her hair a bit. I was instructed to finish it on my own. Her head was soft, and it took me almost 4 hours just to shave her head. (Have shaved my own head in less time) Probably because I was afraid that I would hurt her. That afternoon her belly cord fell off on its own accord, this was only noticed when I was checking her diaper.
Alya is still sleeping around clock only waking up for her milk and for her diaper to be changed. She is also more active during the night, waking up several times in the wee hours for her milk and sometimes not going back to sleep after it. This is to be expected, but a bit tiring for me and her mum. On that note, I need my beauty sleep.

It’s A Girl
1
1st of June 2008, 2.30pm . A beautiful baby girl was born to the proud couple of Rahman and Azlin at Hospital University Science Malaysia. Labor began the day before for the mom and lasted for 14 hours before delivering this bundle of joy. It was a sleepless night for the dad who only got to sleep in the car. At 1 o’clock in the afternoon the mom was wheeled into the delivery room from the antenatal ward. The dad joined the mom in the delivery room at around 1.40pm and calmed and supported the mom through the whole process. Mom’s only comment for her husband was, “I’m happy he’s not the fainting type”. The doctors coached the mother through the process. After numerous pushes the baby was finally delivered. The father whispered iqama to his new baby girl and managed to touch the newborn for a while. After that the father was quickly ushered out of the delivery room to allow the doctors to stitch the mother up and clean the baby.
The team that attended to the delivery was Obstetrician Dr. Rahimah Ab. Rahim, attending Paeditrician Dr. Pazlida Pauzi (my sister) and a houseman on duty. Alhamdulillah everything went well. The mother and baby is expected to be discharged this afternoon (2nd June).

Please Pray For Them
0The parents of a close friend of mine is in hospital due to a car accident. Mr Ahmad is still in critical condition and would need to stabilize before they can further operate on him, his wife has stabilized but still in the ICU. The daughter (the driver) however died as she suffered the most. What I hope is that we all can pray for the safety and health of Mr Ahmad and wife.

Changing My Status
2In a month’s time I will be changing my status, will no longer be a bachelor, but married.
As some of you might noticed I slowed down a bit on blogging this year. The reason being that every time I started to write I seemed to blurt that bit out and because the fiancee prefers that our relationship be kept out of the net, I usually revert to just deleting the entry.
In tandem with keeping things on the quiet end, my wedding will only be a small and simple affair, with only my relatives, and close friends invited for the wedding. Not even going as far as creating a website for it ![]()
So till next time, Adieu ![]()
Bird And Time
2What does a bird and time have in common? both can fly
For surely time flies when u are busy or having fun. For the most part I was having fun. Workload has been tremendous, but amazingly I had fun. ![]()
After the Vball tournament as expected I was off again for another work trip. Went on a short course for biology teachers. Supposed it was for the head of biology panel, but there’s only one biology teacher so I end up going for it. Was actually informed earlier by a fellow biology teacher from Faris Petra, but forgot all about it until the letter arrived at school. The course was a bit sour, maybe becaused I’m used to biology trips during my univ days, but it was ok in the end. Got a bit of exposure on becoming a better biology teacher. Hopefully!! ![]()
Luckily not so far after that it was the mid year break, but I didn’t really get any rest. Was busy going to & fro and everywhere. Lots of wedding invitation to go to. I think I was more tired after the hols than I was before it.
Now after all that I don’t think the activity in my school has gone down a notch but instead I think there’s gonna be a flurry of activities afterward. Need to be prepared mentally for it
There’s the uniformed camp and so on so forth.
I do hope that I’ll get some rest in betweens
So till then.

6 Weird Things About Me
0A few weeks ago I was tagged by naz seems she wants to know my weird habits
So here goes.
1. I watch movies like I read books, I like to pause then go eat, toilet, etcetera then unpause and continue watching where I left it off. This is why I seldom watch movies with other people except if its on the telly or in the cinema.
2. I still watch movies like I read books, which is why I can watch 2 or 3 movies at the same time. Owing to my luck having a laptop n a desktop which could be turned on and showing 2 diff movies ![]()
Neglected Me
0I realize that I’ve been neglecting this blog. As naz says it is time that I realize that I do have a blog. That’s the worrying part isn’t it. I do realize that I have a blog, but hmmm I cant really spend that 10 minutes of time that I used to allocate just to write a simple entry. The workload this year has been crazy and non-stop. Early in the year I was stuck in school, doing all sort of things, settling down a bit and then… I was going out of school so much that I feel like I’m neglecting my students, lucky that I have given them work to do during my so called outstation. Currently I’m out of school, training the district volleyball team. We have a game next week, and then supposedly I can settle down at school again (yeah right). I know that there will be tonnes more work waiting for me at school. For instance there’s the test that is ongoing right now, I’ll finish the vball games just in time to mark the papers. This is the life of a very busy school teacher ![]()
Nevertheless I enjoy this hectic pace, couldn’t really imagine myself just simply teaching at school ![]()
Adieu ![]()
p/s: Been tagged by naz but have no real clue which of my weirdness that would stand out ![]()
