It Was Short

0

The trip back home was certainly short, didn’t even manage to do anything much. Was at first hoping that I’ll be able to write something long and meaningful, but seems to me that the time still isn’t opportune yet.
On a favourable mention, one of my article (Of Snipers … ) that was previously published here, was used in one of my assignment submission and received quite a nice review from my lecturer. Smile That should keep me happy, shouldn’t it.
On yet another note, it was Aidil Adha, and my family celebrated it quietly at my grandpa’s place, nice to be with families… almost everybody was there except for a cousin and my sis. Who’s both at Sarawak and Sabah respectively.
My time home was mostly spent on fixing my sister’s laptop, the dumb thing won’t charge. Luckily I got it fixed, gonna bring it to MPIK. Have tons of assignment and seriously I don’t know how I’m going to manage if I didn’t have any computers around.
So this is it. I’m going off now. Have to go back to MPIK today.

Of Ilmu Khas And Karut

It has been more than a week since I got here and the pace that I’m going is very hectic. There’s never enough time to do everything that needs to be done. And not even half of the time that I would like to have to do everything that I love doing.
But still I’m enjoying it here. Meeting and making new friends, learning a variety of things, and yet still more to learn. Ah.. the student’s life is the best sort of life. Smile And learning what I want to learn is better still.
For now I’m bunking outside of the College as us KPLI students don’t get to live at the Dorms, most of us are staying at a block of Apartment that was specifically reserved for us by the college. The environment is OK. Tons of shops downstairs, everything that you might need is there.
Learning to manage and juggle my times effectively here, as we have tons of assignment (actually I’m doing one of such assignments right now). Currently I’m bodily and mentally exhausted from the first week of studying. But I guess that’s the norm when you first get to a place and needs time to adjust to the surroundings. And yeah I still hate KL’s air.
Till next time, I have an overdue dinner waiting and an assignment to finish.

p/s: For those who still don’t know I’m doing the TESL menengah program for KPLI. Doing it over here at MPIK, Cheras.

After this entry I don’t know how much time I can devote to getting online and updating this entry. I do hope however that I will manage to install the moblog the next time around I get home, so that I can update via WAP. So till then, I’m gonna go offline and catch my bus to KL.

Yes, the new template is ready, it needs that extra tweak, but just couldn’t find the time to do it. So here it is. If you spot any glitches plz inform me so.
The current theme, is named Mist In My Eye, more specifically thru the Eye of My Camera. Smile I was inspired to do this rendition, after seeing what an amazing job that Ander Aznar did with Mist In Nagoya. Seeing how nice it looked, I decided to do one for my own website (see my lack of originality Razz) So I noted down the font that is being used. Noticed the fact that it uses 4 main photos (I omitted one realizing I don’t like swords that much) and went ahead to peruse my collection of photos, finding the perfect photos to do the job wasn’t as easy as I thought. Found a picture of Nagoya Castle itself in my collection (yes, I’ve been to Japan), but decided to do a more Malaysian theme. So that huge building you see there is the Majestic Hotel near Ipoh. Taken during one of my so called journeys. The shot of the trees down there taken at Taman Negara near Merapoh.
As everything else goes, I just took a stock MT3 template, and put in the elements needed. Smile Guess that’s it.
Caveat: There’s a style switcher for ppl still using IE. (Go get Firefox!!!). Also the About Style section is only viewable to better browsers than IE. (Sorry IE doesn’t fully support CSS2 yet)
Hint: There’s a theme called Clean, which doesn’t contain any graphic at all Smile For ppl who like to conserve bandwith Grin
