I Slept In The Bus

Hehe, yeah on my way back from school (aiceh cam kekanak la pulak) I slept on the bus, and oopss I missed my stop, and had to get down at the town… damn! My dad called me first before I managed to call home, and asked, “kat mana tu” hehe had to tell him I was in town. He promised to pick me up….
Waited for about ten minutes then my parents both came, I thought only one would come to pick me up but seems they have other intentions.. they wanted to see some factory sale thingy. I decided to sleep in the car and take a nap, but before long my dad came back to the car and asked me to come along if I wanted a new belt coz they are selling it dirt cheap. So proceeded to follow him and hehe, got myself a new belt. A “Polo Poloni” (????) belt.. Where do they come up with brand names anyway? (info. Poloni is a place in Italy) It was ok la comparable to my other belts, and cost almost half the price of my BUM belt. RM35 maaa, we are all suckers for discounts and bargains 
I also got myself a new wallet, my 1++ year old BUM wallet is in a terrible condition.. My mom managed to buy herself 2 new handbags…. (see 
)

Finally the wait is over, yesterday I got THE letter from USM. “You are now officially no longer a student of this univ.. get lost …” Just kidding…
Nahhh it said “according to last senate meeting u have met the requirement to graduate.. bla bla bla” ….
weeee Bachelor of Applied Science (Biology) Honors .. finally!!!.. USM was real slow in sending the letter… some of my friend received it a month back or more… and I kept calling them asking when and when… hehe
With it ends a chapter of my life as a student, damn, i’m missing it already… sleeping late… waking up late… 2 classes per week… 
compared to now.. sleeping early, waking up.. very early… uuuu
Now starts my new nightmare… finding a job… though that’s for next year after my Subs contract is over. For now lets concentrate on the teaching… fuuu fuuu… tiring maaa…
Ok then time for me to take my afternoon nap…

Another Weekend Has Passed

It was like any other weekend, relaxing at home, reading my usual array of old books, (no new books 
) Watching the tele and most of all I was working on the website, nothing that is really visible except that I’ve completely changed the link’s bar so that it can be easily managed and also so that I can bookmark any interesting sites easily. Blogs are now divided into those who have feeds and those who doesn’t. I’ve also changed some buttons a bit And planning to roll out my topic icons thingy soon
As for a new theme, it will be hard for me to devise a new theme as I’m not that good at designing and I prefer a plain and simple theme like right now Also because of time constraint. Change of colour schemes perhap?
And also my cousin came home yesterday with his wife… rindu kampung kot ekekek He came to my house, he has never brought his wife here so there they are. Had a chat with the both of them… small talks the usual You can’t talk too much, the wife is a lawyer… anything you say can be used against you.
I thinks that’s all adieu
My Dad Went Shopping

Why the topic, because that’s exactly what happened. Yesterday, I went to collect some rental money from our tenant (we are renting out a place that I used to live in) So after that my dad said, “lets go look for some shirts for you”. I have a very small collection of officewears so my dad was gonna buy me some new shirts heheh.. free clothes So had a look at one of the shopping complexes here, and nothing was on sale. I suggested a place that was having a promotion.
Guess what happened, my dad went crazy, why not.. everything was going for 50%, managed to get my hand on some sweet stuff. Stuff I’d never buy (e.g a RM100++ shirt) if there wasn’t a promo, I know that the style is old, but heck if they are going to give 50% discount why not. At the end of the day it wasn’t really me buying shirts but it was my dad.
At least I got some fun out of that heheh…. won’t tell u what that is

First Day At Work

And it started rather weirdly, if you have read my last few entries you would know that the principal actually wanted me to start next month (July). But instead I got a call this morning, around 7 am from my uncle he said that I have to start work today. I was going hah? hah? then ok ok
I already missed my bus that is supposed to be at 7am. Had to take a cab, only arrived at school around 8. the case of the late teacher ehhehe. It was lucky that sunday is the “hari perhimpunan” so me being late wasn’t really noticed. First day maaa.. give me some slack…
Was lepaking half the day without doing anything, first of all because I have no schedules yet, and afterward after being given the schedules I saw that I already missed a class. Only managed to get to 2 classes today. Did the necessary intro. Short intro though, I wasn’t really in the mood to talk and the students didn’t really warmed up to me. So I gave them time off today. With the promise of some heavy learning tomorrow, as if Nota apa tarak ni weiii, need to get myself some textbooks quick. Guess I’ll have to do some vocab building exercises.. or something… if I don’t get it tomorrow.
A senior teacher requested that I be extra strict this time around, because they had a good time under the last teacher. No homework for 2 months.. good for them So I donned my garang look today. Managed to quiet down the class easily that way. Oh well they’ll see eventually I’m not of the garang type. Just another crazy old fella. 
Oh well I need to get some shut eye….

Anyhow here’s a call to all bloggers, if you are using blogspot / blogger can you please activate your atom feed. It’s rather easy if you follow the tutorial by blogger. If you are on another blogging system MT or B2 or WP then I believe it will be as easy. Just follow the manuals If you are writing your blogs manually like Ida or Picha or using GreyMatter which I believe doesn’t support any type of feed, you can try Feedster’s service. They can scrape an RSS feed from your posts with a few tweakings
It’s not my intention to belabor you with difficult task or anything, but I believe that it is something that ppl should have done long ago. For me, I’ve turned on the feature a long time ago. But didn’t provide a link to it on the mainpage as I believe those who wants it will know where to look
For now I’m using the feeds on site like Naz’s and Phyruzze’s to check whether they have recently updated and to see a description of the entry before heading on to the site. This in tandem with a good news/RSS aggregator will give u an easy to view list of ppl who have recently updated. Yeah I know u can do that with blogrolling, but they only display *NEW* for a few hours or so, and for ppl who check only once daily, they might miss it.
Trust me, after installing or activating the RSS/Atom feed you might just get a few more loyal readers.
Following this entry, you will eventually see a button/image next to my Links list for those sites that have a feed (scheduled for the next site code cleanup). And I’ll provide the links to my feeds

Cancelled Trip

A few days back I was contemplating on going to Penang, to meet up with friends and settle a few stuff. But now it seems that won’t be possible. :frust: All because I’m worried that the school will ask me to work a week early, yeah it is a possibility and I’m open to it.
So that’s that and I believe I’ll have to wait a bit before going to Penang, maybe in a weekend dash? 
After I’ve settled in my new job.. or something… still praying 
that I will get it though…
Anyhow today was spent accompanying my aunt to get her car serviced… wasted 3 hours or so at the EON workshop. They did the usual checkup stuff. But the RPM meter is still faulty :rolleyes: as they have to order the original parts… alas only the faulty cigarette lighter is changed, for free that is.
Managed to get some shopping done in the midst of all that. Actually my aunt did the shopping, I was just the cargo plane. nothing of interest to buy except for a facial wash I badly need.
Owh hope tomorrow is better..

Yep I sort of went for an interview today. Got a call from an ex-colleague at a school that I did some temping back in 2002. They told me to come to the school today. Previously they requested me to send in an updated version of my resume (like there’s any change ) So today I went in and felt rather weird… why not, the boys wasn’t in class…they were hanging around the student’s garage.. and the girl.. everywhere that the boys are not?
They told me that they were having a teachers day celebration for the school that day. And I had to join in. What the heck… I just went for it. The students obviously don’t know me, but a majority of the teachers I knew from before, so it was cool. Even managed to get a present from the student.. funny I went for an interview and instead got a present.
Afterwards I was introduced to the new teachers in the department (my department is english) It was kind of funny, that the new teachers feel weird because the old teachers all know me and everyone was sort of asking do I have a girlfriend or not, even mentioning the possibility of a matchmake (ni la problem org tua, pk nak kawinkan org jer ) So I hanged around a bit till the Principal was free.
Got in to meet him (the Principal) a quick interview, the basics, previous schooling, results and the lot, mentioned that I worked there previously. And that’s it. Off I go.. and I didn’t even bring a thing. I expected that my copies of certificate was with him, but apparently it was lost somewhere, haiya typical typical… He said he’ll check with Bahagian Teknik (yeah its a sekolah teknik) and the most is I’ll start next month.. which is ok with me So do pray that he’ll approve it and I get the job.. I’m penniless, need the job hehe….

Now I think it really deserved to be call Yahoo, coz today as I opened my Inbox. I got the message that my account has been upgraded to 100mb for free. This starting from 15 june will affect everyone. A news report from PCWorld said that this will be done in phases, so don’t expect to see it 100mb soon. But it will be so after a while
Meanwhile back in karlbum’s land of weird ppl nothing of interest actually happened. (wow is that surprising or what?) and I happen to just lounge around at home. Except for the fact that I went to get that KPLI pin thingy.. (hehe grad pon tak lagi selamba jer). Just trying my luck who knows I might be the teacher of your sons and daughter in the future.. Sheesh.. cikgu karlbum la plak…

It has been a while

It has been a while since I last updated the blog. Mostly because of the hosting change. Went from using an international server to just a local one. It was also partly because I went for a holiday in Sabah during that time.
But Sabah was a bit boring. It was raining all the time. So I wasn’t really in the mood to go out or anything.. instead I spent a lot of time lepaking at my sis’ home .. while watching TV.. or just eating all sorts of food. Hehehe I think I gained a kilo or two. But at least I had some fun… managed to snap a few shot… (mostly on the plane…) couldn’t help taking pictures of the cloud… wish I had brought an extra film. Oh well…. doesn’t really matter now.
Oh another thing to mention.. as I’ve changed hosting, lets welcome my cousin on board the domain. he’ll finish setting up his website soon I suppose. He’s quite the programmer so I might be using some of his php scripts One such script that I’m currently using is the hidden counter. Hope to see more good scripts from him..
